URGENT MESSAGE - DEAD CARP

One of our members has reported finding 3 large dead Carp at the pond today - see below

Hi Neil
Further to our phone conversation:
To recap, Phil contacted me to report the death of 3 carp, a mirror 23lb, a badly decomposed common about the same and a common 9lb. (picture attached of 2 of the fish, I had to dump the decomposing one due to the smell) I contacted the EA on 0800807060 they gave me the incident number 1004835.
They said they were unlikely to attend the pond to take water samples as there was no sign of pollution and it was only a small number of fish involved. Someone is going to get back to me regarding disposal of the carcasses.
Walking round the pond, we collected a bin liner full of rubbish and noted several fresh remains of fires,
Will let you know of any further developments,

If anybody finds more dead fish can you please let me know - if you find large numbers (more than 10) can you please ring the Environment agency on 0800807060 and report immediately.

It also appears that our rogue members are still persisting in lighting fires and leaving lots of litter on the bank.  Can anyone tell me in confidence who these people are so we can kick these idiots out of the club.

  1. did the 3 fish look as if they were spawn bound still,as many fisheries suffer lost at this time of year,if the fish have not released the spawn due to the crazy weather it will rot inside them.
did the mirror have a white mark on one of its gill covers, if so i saw this fish near to the dam wall last week with a very swollen belly.

i walked around last weekend and saw no litter bank side, yes i saw ramains of fires but they look old, to be honest they looked like the ones chris had the trouble with ,they were on the penfold lane side, Neil any chance of you passing on the fish images via email please, a few people i know may shed some light on them

  2. Really Sad. Since I love Carps, Carp fishing, I cant tolerate to see the dead fishes floating on the pond, lake or somewhere else. However, we have to be very much cautios of them so that we may preserve them well.My memories are full of carps, Carp farming and Carp fishing that i experienced in my village where i was born and brought up. However the pictures of the pond that is used as the background of the blog is also awesome and has the similarity of ours .Thanks for this nice post and the blog as well.
